Laser Induced Synthesis of Silicon Carbide

Abstract
Silicon carbide powder was prepared from ethylene and silicon using the 10.6 µm radiation from a TEA CO2 laser .Different pulse energies of laser and ethylene flow rates were examined .The products were identified and tested via X-ray , FTIR and particle size techniques.
