Abstract

Modern and contemporary critical studies agree on distinguishing between the inside of the text and its outside or what surrounds it, as there is a link between the inside and the outside in the literary text, which is what is called textual thresholds. Wasini Al-A'raj employed in his novel, which is considered a personal autobiography, a group of textual thresholds to the novelistic text, and these textual thresholds contributed to a revealing sign of the secrets of the entire novel. In this study, we will show the importance of these textual thresholds and their impact on shaping the artistic structure in the novel.
