Abstract

The cities of Iraq occupied a distinguished position among the Islamic cities and gained great importance in Islamic history, as Iraq and its scholars had important contributions to enriching the intellectual and scientific movement in the Islamic world, as it produced many scholars and thinkers in various aspects of life, and they had a major role in establishing, developing, spreading and delivering religious and intellectual knowledge and sciences to all countries and cities in the East and West. This research aims to shed light on the most prominent Iraqi historians in the second and third centuries AH, who made great efforts in forming the distinctive features of Islamic civilization, and had a great influence on a group of famous scholars who came after; with prestigious status and high fame, so we chose this topic (Contributions of Iraqi historians in the second and third centuries AH).
