Abstract

The hamza is a phonetic phenomenon and a unique feature of Arabic pronunciation or language. This phenomenon has occupied an important position in linguistic studies, both ancient and modern, and has been addressed by lexicographers in their works. This research addresses selected examples of words related to this phenomenon, which lexicographers transmitted from Ibn al-Sikkit (d. 244 AH). This aims to highlight Ibn al-Sikkit's influence on Arabic lexicography through the study of this phenomenon. Accordingly, the research began with an introduction, then addressed the hamza in language and terminology, followed by a simplification of the hamza and its forms, and the verification of the hamza and its forms. The research concluded with the most important findings, a list of footnotes, and a list of sources and references
