Abstract

This study aims to study the selective mutism and its relationship to family communication among middle school students. The study objectives required finding tools to achieve the objectives. Through the researcher’s review of previous studies, literature and measures related to the research variables, a scale of family interaction and communication was constructed. After verifying the psychometric properties, these two research tools were applied to a sample of (240) middle school students for the academic year (2024-2025). After collecting and correcting the responses, they were processed statistically using appropriate statistical methods (one-sample t-test, two-sample t-test, and Pearson test) using the statistical package (spss).The study concluded with a set of results recommendations and suggestions
