Abstract

The research focuses on developing recreational facilities, activities, and events in the city of Khanaqin, given its location in the eastern region of Diyala Governorate. This location provides a favorable climate for recreation in the natural areas surrounding the city or within its administrative boundaries. This location also allows for the establishment of green areas and public parks for recreational purposes. The increasing demand from the general population of Diyala Governorate for recreation and entertainment, especially during the spring and Spring Festival, is another incentive to develop recreational areas in the city and significantly increase the number of recreational areas over the past ten years. The research focuses on recreational areas, their distribution, and the spaces they occupy.
