Abstract

The morphological structures in the divans (collected poems) of poets vary in generating meanings, each with its own distinct form that conveys different semantic implications from a morphological perspective. These structures are notably present in the divan of *Haydar al-Hilli*, where readers, upon engaging with his poetry, evoke the meanings intended by the poet. Haydar al-Hilli’s divan served as a primary source for this study, from which selected poems were analyzed as research models. This study investigates morphological structures and their role in generating secondary meanings, as well as the complementary relationship between morphological forms and semantic derivation. It also examines the influence of syntactic structures on meaning, since the transition from the original (literal) meaning to contextual usage requires a semantic cue to maintain the connection between the word’s root meaning and its derived connotations as perceived by the recipient
