Abstract

This study explores the use of descriptive derivatives—namely the active participle, passive participle, forms of exaggeration, adjective of resemblance, and the comparative/superlative noun. Titled “Descriptive Derivatives in Ibn al-Azraq’s Issues: A Morphological and Semantic Study,” the research highlights the inseparable relationship between morphology and semantics in understanding these forms. The importance of this study lies in its integrated approach to both aspects, as analyzing such derivatives requires a perspective that unites structure and meaning. Ibn al-Azraq’s Issues were chosen for their rich linguistic content and because they represent the first interpretation of the Qur’an through poetry
