Abstract

The most prominent feature of the language used by Khandaqji in the novel A Mask the Color of the Sky is its eloquent, agile, and unpretentious Arabic. On this basis, the words in the novel reflect symbolic meanings tied to identity and freedom. Its narrative beauty. The novel is rich in artistic and narrative structure, including character development, time, and place, as well as poetic descriptions of the Palestinian land that highlight its connection to history. These images can be analyzed to understand their impact on the reader’s emotions. Khandaqji employs a variety of sentence structures, using short, concise sentences to convey tension and longer, contemplative ones to depict psychological depth.
