Abstract

The aim of the current research is to identify the level of tolerance flexibility among university employees and the significance of statistical differences in tolerance flexibility according to the variables of gender (male – female) and years of service. To achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher relied on the (tolerance flexibility) scale developed by Çolak (2017), based on her theory and definition. Face validity and construct validity were also verified. The reliability was verified using both the test-retest method, with a reliability coefficient of 0.84, and the Cronbach’s alpha method, with a reliability coefficient of 0.75. The scale was then applied to the research sample, which consisted of 400 male and female employees from the University of Diyala, categorized according to the variable of years of service (more than 5 years – less than 5 years). he research sample was selected using a stratified random sampling method with proportional distribution. The researcher employed statistical methods such as the one-sample t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient, the t-test for independent samples, and Cronbach's alpha equation. The results showed that the research sample has tolerance flexibility when compared to the hypothesized mean of the scale, with statistically significant differences. The results also indicated that there were no statistically significant differences based on the gender variable (male – female), but there were statistically significant differences based on the years of service variable (more than 5 years – less than 5 years), with the advantage for those with more than five years of service.
