Abstract

The present study aims to investigate the following: 1. The level of trustworthiness among preparatory school teachers. 2. Differences in trustworthiness based on gender (male–female). 3. Differences in trustworthiness based on years of service (less than ten years – ten years or more). The research sample consisted of 400 male and female preparatory school teachers, selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. To achieve the study objectives, the researcher developed a Trustworthiness Scale based on Hardin’s theory (Hardin, 1996). The scale consisted of 22 items, with face and construct validity confirmed. Reliability was established using the test-retest method, yielding a correlation coefficient of 0.77, while Cronbach’s alpha was 0.72. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used for data analysis, employing statistical methods such as: one-sample t-test, independent samples t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient, z-test, and Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. The main findings were as follows: 1. Preparatory school teachers exhibit a high level of trustworthiness. 2 . Significant gender-based differences in trustworthiness were found, with male teachers scoring higher than female teachers. 3. Significant differences in trustworthiness were found based on years of service, favoring teachers with less than ten years of experience. In light of the results reached ,the research come up with some recommendations and proposals .
