Abstract

The praised other played a prominent role in AL- Wawa's Diwan and in our study the"other" was limited to two figures were highly regarded and repeated by our poet namely Sayf Al-Dawla Al-Hamadani and Al-sharif Al-Uqayqi, Perhaps the poet sought to approach them for personal motives but what concerns us is that he employed the characters as representation of the other in the finest style and in a elevated poetic language where in various Arabic rhetorical techniques previaled,He mastered his language sometimes addressing the praised figure through religious discourse attempting to elevate his stature by associating him with sacred places and religious symbols and at other times describing his praised figure as gentle in behavior and generous in giving and sometimes portraying him as a majestic other marked by dominance and strength in alignment with the saying do not be so soft that you are squeezed nor so hard that you are broken trying to depict him as more forbearing and wise.We have illustrated the beauty and clarity of these texts using the tools of analysis available to us and perhaps the poet praised them for the qualities that clearly defined them.He also excelled in the use of Arabic knowing when and how to employ both the rhetorical and expository styles,Our analysis was abased on the descriptive analytical method.
