Abstract

The Round Table negotiations took place in Poland in 1989 between the Polish government and representatives of the opposition, including members of the Solidarity movement, as well as members of trade unions and labor parties such as the Polish Workers' Party. These negotiations resulted in a set of agreements that allowed the Solidarity movement to resume its legal activities and to hold free parliamentary elections in Poland, which constituted an important step in the political transition and the end of the communist regime's dominance in Poland
