Abstract

Educational services are effective tools for economic, social, cultural, and technological development, and are among the most important services affecting the lives of residents. This study aims to reveal the reality of educational services in Al-Mansouriya district and to identify their spatial distribution and functional efficiency relative to population size, according to local standards. The study consists of an introduction and two main sections, including the problem statement, hypothesis, objective, methodology, and research limitations. The first section addresses the spatial distribution of educational services in Al-Mansouriya district. It was found that the spatial distribution of educational services at the district level is unequal and unplanned compared to the population size of each area. The second section discusses the efficiency of educational services in Al-Mansouriya district in terms of educational and demographic indicators. It was observed that, in general, the student-to-school ratios and class ratios exceed the established standard. Furthermore, school buildings suffer from numerous problems, including a shortage of facilities compared to the number of schools and a lack of services. The third section analyzes the efficiency of the spatial distribution of educational services in Al-Mansouriya district using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology, specifically the standard distance coefficient and the nearest neighbor coefficient.
