Formal and Thematic Manifestations of the Openings in Ibn al-Rumi's Panegyrics

Abstract

This research sheds light on the opening as a threshold through which the reader enters the world of the text, contributing to shaping the horizon of reception and guiding the poem's meaning. The research reveals the openings of panegyrics in Ibn al-Rumi's poetry, presenting their formal manifestations. Ibn al-Rumi skillfully employed these formal features through his use of alliteration and rhyme, which show the openings of panegyric poems. As for the content, we find that Ibn al-Rumi focused on generating images and meanings that combine precision and beauty, where the formal structure integrates with the content to present an opening that enhances the aesthetic and artistic impact.
