Abdullah Ibn ‘Urwah Ibn Al-Zubayr and his Role in Narrating the Events of the Maghazi

Abstract

This study aims to examine the personality of Abdullah ibn ‘Urwah ibn al-Zubayr and to understand his personal and scholarly life, considering the significant contributions of this esteemed scholar in narrating various historical events over time. In fact, He one of the narrators and scholars whose reputation is embedded in many classical texts. This research was conducted to highlight his scholarly character and his substantial contributions, as many later historians and scholars relied on his accounts when documenting different historical events. The importance of studying his personal life and character is thus evident. In this study, we focus specifically on his narrations of the Maghazi (military expeditions of the Prophet Muhammad) due to their precise and detailed presentation of historical material. This research aims to shed light on his personality, his scholarly knowledge, and his role in preserving and transmitting the narrations Events of the Maghazi.
