Abstract

Allah, the Almighty, willed to honor the Islamic nation, so He sent to it the most beloved of His creation, Muhammad (peace be upon him), and chose for him the best companions brave men and devoted female companions. In fact, Afra was one of these women, holding a distinguished place in this regard. She was the mother of seven participants in the Battle of Badr, all of whom had a prominent presence in the Islamic community. She belonged to one of the households of the Ansar that combined firm doctrinal upbringing with active participation in jihad, leaving a unified and lasting impact that continued until the end of the Rashidun era. From this emerges the importance of the subject of the female Companion Afra, who was known as the “Mother of the Seven Martyrs,” whose sons were martyred in the cause of Allah. She instilled in their hearts love for the Prophet (peace be upon him) and a spirit of self-sacrifice for this religion, so that even at a young age they stood firm in the heat of battle to support Islam with their lives.
