Abstract

This study examines the future trends of essential infrastructure services, namely drinking water, sewerage, and electricity, within the Baghdad Al-Jadida Municipal Unit and its neighborhoods (Al-Khaleej, Al-Amin, Al-Khansaa, and Al-Ma'moun). The research aims to evaluate the efficiency of these services and relate them to demographic variables in order to estimate future needs and identify the gap between service supply and demand.development of infrastructure networks within the study area. In addition, statistical indicators were utilized to analyze current and projected population growth rates, as well as transformations in urban housing patterns.The findings revealed significant pressure on the existing infrastructure networks resulting from increasing population density, changes in property utilization, and the emergence of residential subdivision practices. These factors have contributed to a decline in service efficiency and the operational adequacy of the networks, which no longer correspond to the required service capacities.The study further provided quantitative estimates of future requirements for electrical energy, potable water supply, and sewerage capacities in accordance with the projected population size for the coming years. The research concluded with a set of recommendations, most notably the necessity of comprehensive structural upgrading of aging infrastructure networks, the adoption of smart management technologies to reduce waste and losses, and the integration of population expansion plans within Baghdad Al-Jadida Municipality with proactive infrastructure development strategies to ensure the achievement of sustainable development
