Abstract

Postcolonial criticism is viewed as a critical and intellectual project that seeks to deconstruct colonial discourse and analyze its impact on the formation of identity, language, and memory. It transcends the boundaries of aesthetic textual analysis to address the hegemony embedded within literary and intellectual discourses. Consequently, this approach has become one of the most prominent methodologies in cultural studies, offering procedural tools for reading texts as a space of interaction between power and resistance, center and margin, and self and other This research derives its significance from its aim to situate postcolonial criticism within the contemporary critical landscape, uncover its theoretical foundations, and clarify its relationship with modern critical approaches. It also seeks to explore key concepts and critical methodologies by addressing the following questions: What is the concept of postcolonial criticism? What intellectual and historical frameworks contributed to its emergence? What are its primary theoretical pillars? Furthermore, the study examines its impact on offering new readings of texts, free from Western-centrism.
