Abstract

The current research seeks to estimate and assess objective indices of social quality of life in the city of Amerli by using the descriptive and analytical approaches. This research involved 16 neighborhoods of the city. The research was based on the findings of field investigations and the 2024 census among the general population. In addition, ArcGIS software was used for the purposes of data analysis. The following five objective indices were analyzed: the size of households, the share of youth in the population, the share of heads of households having higher education, illiteracy rate, and the ratio of households per housing unit. The average size of households in Amerli was 6.5 people. It shows the large size of families compared to the citizens of other cities. At the same time, the share of youth in the population is 34.3% of the total population. As far as the issue of the percentage of heads of households with higher education degrees goes, the figure stands at 1.1% of the whole city population. The figure illustrates the problem associated with the high education levels among the population. Furthermore, the percentage of illiterates is 10.5%, which shows the need for improving literacy rates. Also, the number of households per housing unit stands at 21.2%, which suggests overpopulation in the city. It is clear from the figures above that there are discrepancies in the demographics and social parameters of the city of Amerli.
