Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify: 1. Imposter syndrome among graduate students. 2. The statistical significance of differences in imposter syndrome according to gender (male-female). 3- The significance of statistical differences in the impostor syndrome according to the specialization variable (scientific - humanities). To achieve the objectives of this research, the researcher adopted the theory and definition of (Clans 1978). The researcher relied on this theory in constructing the impostor syndrome scale. After the researcher followed the scientific steps in constructing it, verifying the apparent validity and construct validity, and verifying the reliability using the test-retest method, the reliability coefficient reached (0.992), while the reliability coefficient of the instrument using the Cronbach's alpha method reached (0.901). The scale was applied to the primary research sample (the results sample), which consisted of (294) male and female students selected using the stratified random method with proportional distribution, from the University of Diyala. When processing the study data statistically using (the t-test for one sample, the Pearson correlation coefficient, and the t-test for two independent samples), the research reached the following results: 1-- That graduate students have a level The average level of impostor syndrome is neither high nor low. The statistical differences according to gender were in favor of males, and the statistical differences were in favor of scientific specialization according to specialization.
