Abstract

This research studies (Orientalism between disappearance and renewal, and the wrong perceptions of the positions of Orientalists in their study of ancient Arabic poetry), as I chose this topic for two reasons:

First: There are many opinions and perceptions about the future of Orientalism, some of which see: that Orientalism has decayed and ended, as it has lost its appeal, strength, and glow. In the Middle East region, but this opinion is not devoid of estrangement and underestimation of the efforts of some orientalists, but in order not to avoid the truth, it can be said: Orientalism has faded, as a result of many reasons mentioned by the researcher in multiplying this research, and the second: to clarify some wrong perceptions about the positions of contemporaries who became enlightened. To study ancient Arabic poetry, the reasons for its emergence, and the development of its approach, since these capabilities contributed to the poetic creativity of the ancient Arab poet, which is something that researchers who studied ancient Arabic poetry in light of contemporary Orientalism did not pay attention to before.

But before delving into the details of the research, a question must be answered: Can we consider every Westerner to be an Orientalist?
