Abstract

This research aims to explore the concept of experimentation in the Arabic short story and analyze it by unveiling new techniques that go beyond conventional structures. It adopts an experimental approach with the goal of breaking classical rules of storytelling, reshaping its templates through the perspective of experimentation—a term that is renewable and updatable, thus making a profound impact on the literary scene. The features of experimentation began to take shape during the 1960s in Arab countries, especially in Iraq, which engaged critics and storytellers alike. Consequently, the mechanisms of experimentation demonstrated the ability to synthesize new approaches to storytelling. As a result, storytellers ventured into the postmodern realm of experimentation, introducing novel formats, methods, and contrasting perspectives that challenged the prevalent and familiar, delivering a new and startling sensitivity to the recipient's taste.
