Abstract

Visual pollution is one of the environmental issues that requires serious and continuous attention, as it does not only affect the outward beauty of cities, but also extends to impact human psychological comfort and the quality of daily life. From this standpoint, the importance of this research emerges to shed light on this phenomenon in the city of Hibhib. The study addresses the concept of visual pollution, its dimensions, and the reasons behind its occurrence, including economic, political, planning, administrative, and legal causes. The research also examines the manifestations of visual pollution in Hibhib from an urban perspective, such as the lack of harmony in building facades, their widths and heights, incomplete constructions, the spread of posters and advertising media, traffic movement, street vendors occupying sidewalks, informal housing, tangled electrical wires, and private generators. It also discusses the psychological and health-related effects of visual pollution on the city's residents
