Abstract

This critical study examines a central aesthetic issue in contemporary Arabic narrative criticism, namely the issue of the nature of the structural formation of the metanarrative structure through the use of parody and the interaction of texts with each other. As it seems that this issue has not taken its wide share among the studies that dealt with research and analysis of the structure of the metanarrative. The research according to this conceptualization achieves two important concepts. From the first conceptualization, it is possible to know the comprehensive nature open to different methods of the metanarrative structure in the contemporary novel, while the second conceptualization is to move away from what has been established in the critical mindset that analyzes this structure in two fixed directions related to metanarrative and meta history; thus, textual interactions achieve an important role in shaping the contemporary structure of postmodern narratives represented through parody and its significance both visually and textually
