Abstract

This study highlights a precise syntactic phenomenon, namely separation and parenthesis, which has been addressed by Iraqi researchers within the scope of grammatical interpretation studies. The original structure of syntactic constructions is characterized by the continuous sequence of its components without interruptions or insertions, preserving the coherence and harmony between elements such as the subject and predicate, the verb and its object, the genitive construction, the relative pronoun and its antecedent, the adjective and the noun, among others. However, this order may be modified by the insertion of separations or parenthetical elements within the syntactic structure. These interruptions have prompted numerous studies under the overarching theme of interpretation, as separations and parenthesis represent important manifestations of interpretative phenomena discussed in previous research and form the basis of this study. This research comprises two main topics: the first addresses the concept of separation and parenthesis, while the second examines separation and parenthesis in nominative, accusative, and genitive cases. The chosen title aims to consolidate the scattered scholarly efforts on this subject into a single comprehensive study and to demonstrate the impact of interpretative manifestations on syntactic issues, whether in terms of complexity or facilitation.
