Abstract

The study aimed to identify the levels of academic burnout and psychological resilience among university students, examine the correlational relationship between them, and determine whether there were statistically significant differences in this relationship based on gender (male/female) and academic specialization (scientific/humanities). The study was conducted on a sample of (200) students from the University of Diyala. The researcher constructed an Academic Burnout Scale and employed the Psychological Resilience Scale (Khalifa, 2022). The results indicated low levels across all academic burnout subscales (study load, pessimism, negative interpersonal relationships, and diminished academic efficacy) alongside elevated levels of psychological resilience. Statistically significant negative correlations were observed between each burnout dimension and the perseverance-hardiness and adjustment dimensions of resilience, but not with social support. No significant differences in the burnout-resilience correlation were attributable to gender or academic specialization.
