Abstract

The current research aims to identify academic resilience and psychological endurance among new staff teachers, as well as to identify the significance of differences in academic resilience and psychological endurance according to the gender variable (males, females). It also aims to identify the nature of the correlation between academic resilience and psychological endurance among members of the sample. The research sample consisted of (200) male and female teachers from the new staff in the schools affiliated with the Diyala Education Directorate, Baqubah District Center. They were selected randomly using the scales prepared by the researchers, which are (the academic resilience scale and the psychological endurance scale). After verifying the psychometric properties of the validity and reliability of the two scales, the data were statistically analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The results showed that the sample members of the new staff teachers are characterized by academic toughness and psychological endurance. It showed that there were no statistically significant differences in academic resilience according to the gender variable, and that there were statistically significant differences in psychological endurance between males and females, as it was proven that males have more endurance than females. It also confirmed the existence of a positive correlation between academic resilience and psychological endurance among the sample members. In light of the results, the researchers came up with a set of conclusions, recommendations and proposals.
