Abstract
This research is an attempt to explain the sociology of poetic discourse in the poetry of Abdel-Wahhab Al-Bayati according to the sociological approach, which works to link literature to society and measure the quality of the writer in it by the extent to which he faithfully portrays the concerns of his society and class. Thus, he takes the poet Abdel-Wahhab Al-Bayati as a model for studying the relationship between sociology and literature. Because it is one of the most important pillars of the realist school .
Al-Bayati’s poetry deals with social issues represented by poverty, ignorance, injustice and backwardness, in addition to his interest in sadness, the village and the city, as well as political issues represented by revolution, freedom, justice and equality. And other issues, although romantic realism is the doctrine closest to it and the easiest to address, as we find the poet’s soul full of anxiety, rebellion, and vague longings .
The research was divided into two sections. In the first section, we dealt with the relationship of sociology to literature and society. As for the second section, we studied the sociological analysis of social and political issues in Al-Bayati’s poetry. The research concluded with a conclusion containing the most prominent results of the research .
